Connectivity

For real-time access to measurement values, the sensors must be connected somehow to a network. For mobile sensors this connectivity is by definition wireless, but also for independent stationary sensors a wireless connection is often the preferred solution.

  • GPRS, General packet radio service, is a packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G cellular communication system's global system for mobile communications (GSM).
  • LoRaWAN, Long Range Wide-Area Network, is a type of telecommunication network designed to allow long range communications at a low bit rate among things (connected objects), such as sensors operated on a battery.
